Last year’s awards were truly inspirational and for this reason we have decided to sponsor two awards, including ‘Teacher of the Year’ and ‘School of the Year.’

We are proud to support local schools and teachers again and the awards are a fantastic chance to celebrate the great work carried out by York teachers and schools.  Our origins are in education and we continue to work closely with many schools, expertly recruiting teachers and support staff for all sorts of educational clients in York and beyond, so we thought this was fitting.  We are delighted to be at the heart of our local community in our sponsorship of these awards.

The awards are well deserved by all nominees and The Community Pride Awards are the perfect platform to recognize great schools and inspirational staff – we’d encourage parents, pupils and colleagues to nominate the teachers and schools that go ‘above and beyond’ in their community.

The Community Pride Awards are sponsored by Benenden and jointly run by The Press and City of York Council.

All nominees must live in, or contribute to life in the City of York Council area.

About three finalists from each category will be invited to the awards ceremony at York Racecourse in October.

You can make a nomination at yorkpress.co.uk/pride saying why you think your nominee deserves an award.

Entries to be submitted until Friday 21 July 2017.
