Shops, cafe’s and other businesses in York’s Fossgate are battling back from the devastating floods from Boxing Day, with plans for their first car-free festival of 2016. Live music and entertainment is on the cards from 10am until 6pm.
Business owners are hoping to attract bumper custom on Sunday 1 May 2016, when all traffic will be banned from the city centre street.
So why not come along and listen to music in the street from emerging talents, including the Y-Street Band, a contemporary pop cover band, the Black Jacks, a swing band, Ruby Joy, a ‘young teenager with a powerful voice,’ and Brigantes Tribal belly dancers.
The festival is open to all and there will be seating in the street, face painting and children’s story-telling plus street food will be on sale.
Other festivals are looking to take place on June 5, July 3, August 7 and August 28.
