Our client is looking for a Transport Network Monitoring Officer on temporary basis for a minimum of 3 months, possibly longer. This is a front line role focusing on controlling the City of York’s traffic management technologies with the aim of maximising the efficiency of the road network and prioritising road use.
The role involves:
- Using technology to control traffic signals, CCTV, message signs and other similar transport technology. Prior experience of these systems is not essential as training will be provided.
- The role is shift based, working 37 hours per week 0700 to 1900, Monday to Saturday
You will need:
- Strong experience of utilising complex IT systems, although training will be given on the actual system you will be utilising.
- To be comfortable and have previous experience of working and liaising with other departments an companies, therefore excellent oral and written skills are required.
Knowledge of how to operate Intelligent Transport Systems, including: UTC (Urban Traffic Control), UTMC (Urban Traffic Management and Control), CCTV or any Bus Real Time Systems would be extremely beneficial.
Pay rate for this role is £10.30 per hour, this is for a minimum of 3 months and could go on longer.
