We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a self motivated and enthusiastic individual to support the residents of York to become more physically active. This will be a full time assignment for 4 weeks – £12.54 per hour.

The role will involve supporting and enabling people in York to increase their participation in physical activity, sport and active recreation with a particular focus on groups who are the least active. It will require devising, and coordinating a wide range of physical activity and sporting projects and programmes as well as creating, enhancing and managing partnerships with key stakeholders in the City to facilitate and enable more people to become physically active.

You will have experience of coordinating community physical activity and sport projects and programmes; developing collaborative partnerships that have achieved impact and excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire a wide range of stakeholders. You will have a good understanding of the physical activity and sporting landscape at a participation level including knowledge of barriers and challenges people face in becoming and staying physically active. You will have a good understanding of physical activity and sport policies at a national level including DCMS and Sport England.
