Are you looking for on-going, temporary Residential Child Care Relief work?
We are looking for Residential Child Care Workers to work as part of a team supporting a young person with complex needs within the community and within a residential setting.
The role is challenging, but very rewarding. We are looking for someone with experience in working with people who are diagnosed with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) whilst developing a positive relationship with the child.
You will be supporting a young person who is a creative, imaginative and engaging individual who greatly values the positive relationships he builds with others.
You will be working over a shift pattern, which includes evenings and weekends, and some sleep in duties. This role is for a minimum of 16 hours per week.
Hours are to include a Saturday or Sunday fortnightly and a Thursday evening also fortnightly.
The successful candidates must have:
- Experience in supporting children with PDA, autism, and/or other complex needs.
- The ability to work as part of a highly skilled team, in a 2:1 with the child.
- Work dynamically on your own initiative whilst keeping in line with company policy, procedures, individual care plans and risk assessments.
We are developing a small staff team to provide 2:1 support to a young boy with complex needs related to autism and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance). We will provide ongoing training and support with particular reference to needs relating to autism and PDA.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all WorkwithYork staff to share this commitment. Ideally you should therefore have a current valid DBS registered with the Update service, otherwise we will require successful applicants to undertake an online Enhanced Criminal Records check via DBS.
Please apply by completing our application form or email your full CV including reference details – one of your referees should be your current or most recent employer.
