Do you want to give something back to your community?
Do you have experience supporting disabled children and young people?
Interested in Short Breaks casual work, mainly during evenings, weekends and school holidays?
We are WorkwithYork and we are seeking Community Short Breaks workers on a casual basis paid at £9.92 per hour.
Community Short Breaks is a short break scheme for disabled children and young people who may have learning disabilities, autism, difficulties with communication, complex health care needs or physical disabilities.
We need committed people able to offer support to disabled children and their families. You will need to be available for ten hours per week or more. The role involves looking after children within the child’s own home, taking children out into the community alongside their families so they can enjoy leisure and social activities.
The service is available at times when families and children need it. Therefore the hours will be mainly evenings, weekends and school holidays.
This is a good opportunity for someone with experience in supporting children and who has relevant knowledge of disability. Full training and support will be provided.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all WorkwithYork staff to share this commitment. We will require successful applicants to undertake an Enhanced Criminal Records check via DBS.
