York Festival of Ideas brings together world-class speakers, exhibitions, performances and interactive experiences for people of all ages. There are activities planned around the City for all ages and interests and are running from now until Sunday 19th June 2016. 

On Thursday 16th and Friday 17th June 2016 there are a variety of talks, performances and exhibitions and over the weekend some community events suitable for the family, see a taster below.

Saturday 8th June 2016 – The Need for Speed interactive challenge from 1.00 to 2:30pm.  A hands-on challenge to design transportation for the future with Virgin Trains and University of York.  See if you can make the fastest train and track. A fun workshop suitable for families with children over seven. 

Sunday 19th June 2016 – why not let the children’s imagination run wild and ‘build a favourite lego memory of York’ at York Explore from 11.30am-3pm.
