What kinds of work do you offer?

 

WorkwithYork offers ad hoc, temporary, seasonal and permanent jobs on a part or full time basis across a wide range of roles.

 

How can I apply for work?

Once you have found the job you’re interested in on our website, you can send an updated copy of your CV or download an application form to print and complete and email us at applications@workwithyork.co.uk.

Alternatively, you can print and return your completed application form to Workwith York, Top Floor, 5/6 Kings Court, The Shambles, York YO1 7LD.

When applying, please provide details of TWO referees, one from your last/most recent employer. Referees should not be family members or friends.

Once we have details of references, we will contact you to arrange an interview.

How do I get paid for temporary assignments?

You will use our online timesheet system to confirm your hours weekly – providing your hours for each week are confirmed by you and authorised by your placement manager by 12 noon on the following Monday, you will be paid the following Friday.

How do I book holidays?

To request holidays please complete our holiday request form. If you are in a long term assignment you will need to agree it with your placement manager.

Will I be entitled to Sick Pay?

You may be able to claim statutory sick pay (SSP) if you meet the right criteria, for more information please see this SSP guidance.

Do you offer a Pension for temporary workers?

Yes provided you meet the elligibility criteria, you will be auto-enrolled into NEST once you have worked for us for a month. For more information on the terms of the scheme and eligibility please see NEST’s website.

Who do I contact if I have a query regarding my timesheets or payment?

You will need to contact our payroll department which is open Monday-Friday from 8.30am-5.00pm – please call 01904 566066

I have applied for work and have not been contacted

This could be for any number of reasons, your references are not suitable, or your sector experience or required skills do not match current jobs.  It could also be based on information you gave us, for example, you were looking for part time work only, can only commit to a certain number of hours  etc.  If in doubt, then please call us on 01904 566066.

Do I have to accept any work I am offered?

There is no obligation for WorkwithYork to provide work or for you to accept any work we offer. Allocation of work is entirely at our discretion.

Can Work with York help me with sponsorship/ visa to work in the UK, unpaid work experience or apprenticeships?

As a recruitment agency we are UNABLE to offer sponsorship or assistance with obtaining visas, unpaid work experience (as we only provide paid work) or apprenticeships.
